Dental Bridges

Replace one or more missing teeth with a fixed, natural-looking dental bridge.

A dental bridge is a fixed prosthetic restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring to adjacent natural teeth or dental implants. Unlike dentures, bridges are permanently cemented in place and do not need to be removed for cleaning.

Replacing missing teeth is important not just for aesthetics, but for function and health. Missing teeth can cause adjacent teeth to shift, affect your bite, and lead to bone loss in the jaw. A dental bridge restores your smile, bite, and confidence.

What to Expect

The Process

1

Preparation of Abutment Teeth

The teeth on either side of the gap (abutment teeth) are prepared by removing a small amount of enamel to accommodate the bridge.

2

Impressions

Precise impressions are taken of the prepared teeth and the gap to guide fabrication of the bridge.

3

Temporary Bridge

A temporary bridge is placed to protect the prepared teeth while your permanent bridge is being made.

4

Bridge Fabrication

Your custom bridge is crafted in a dental laboratory to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth.

5

Bridge Placement

The permanent bridge is checked for fit and appearance, then cemented in place.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Dental bridges are a good option for patients who are missing one or more teeth and have healthy adjacent teeth to serve as anchors. Patients who prefer not to undergo implant surgery may also prefer a bridge. We'll discuss all your options during a consultation.
