Dental Cleanings

Professional teeth cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains for a healthier, fresher smile.

A professional dental cleaning (prophylaxis) is one of the most important things you can do for your oral health. Even with excellent brushing and flossing, plaque and tartar accumulate in areas that are difficult to reach at home.

Our skilled dental hygienists use specialized instruments to remove plaque and tartar buildup, polish your teeth to remove surface stains, and provide personalized guidance on improving your home care routine. We recommend most patients have a professional cleaning every six months.

The Process

1

Plaque & Tartar Removal

Using ultrasonic and hand instruments, we carefully remove plaque and calculus from all tooth surfaces and along the gumline.

2

Tooth Polishing

A gentle polishing removes surface stains and leaves teeth feeling smooth and clean.

3

Flossing

We floss between all teeth to remove any remaining debris and check for areas of concern.

4

Fluoride Treatment

A fluoride treatment is applied to strengthen enamel and help prevent cavities.

5

Oral Hygiene Instruction

We provide personalized tips on brushing technique, flossing, and any other tools that may benefit your specific needs.

Is This Right for Me?

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Professional cleanings are recommended for all patients, typically every six months. Patients with a history of gum disease may benefit from more frequent cleanings (every 3–4 months) as part of a periodontal maintenance program.
